There’s no denying it, an online presence is a must-have for every library, whether big or small. A digital branch opens the library to the online community and offers a place where your customers can interact—with you and with each other. The key is to make the digital branch a place that people want to visit. Learn creative, effective ways to enhance your existing or create your first digital branch. Presenter: David Lee King is the digital services director at Topeka & Shawnee County (Kans.) Public Library, where he plans, implements, and experiments with emerging technology trends. He speaks internationally about emerging trends, website management, digital experience, and social media, and has been published in many library-related journals. David was named a Library Journal Mover and Shaker for 2008. His newest book, Face2Face: Using Facebook, Twitter, and Other Social Media Tools to Create Great Customer Connections, was published in September.
