2005-2006 Project Description / Goals:
Goal 1: Organize
a professional Booth exhibit displaying information about NMRT and how to
become a member at ALA New Orleans.
·
Design
the Booth around a theme for ALA New Orleans that highlights NMRT and the
benefits of becoming a member, a schedule of NMRT events and programs during
the conference, information on the Resume Review Service, and additional
information about NMRT.
·
Distribute
a survey that will allow us to identify the Booth visitors that would like to
join NMRT. Our target goal is approximately
250-275 completed surveys.
·
Solicit
donations for 2 gift baskets to give away to visitors for stopping by the NMRT
Booth and participating in a survey.
Also, create another gift basket for the Exhibitor's Silent Auction.
·
Provide
28 hours of Booth coverage with the help of 25 volunteers.
·
Record
the number of Booth visitors. Our target
goal is approximately 500-600 visitors.
·
Organize
any shipments of materials needed for ALA New Orleans, including the literature
rack and the NMRT banner to ALA New Orleans.
·
At the
end of the conference, take down the Booth exhibit and make sure all of the
items are shipped to their proper location.
Goal 2: Update
the Booth committee page on the NMRT website before ALA New Orleans.
·
Update
the Booth web pages on the NMRT website to include volunteer information,
instructions, and the schedule for staffing the Booth exhibit at ALA New
Orleans.
Goal 2: Revise
Booth procedures.
·
Update
the Booth procedures to assist the 2006-2007 committee.
Goal 4: Explore
the possibility of purchasing a mobile exhibit unit, including furniture,
storage, signage, and carpet that would eliminate the need for furniture,
signage, and carpet rental.
· This one time expense would not only save the committee time and money by eliminating the rental cost every year, but it would also provide a more professional image for the organization. The purchase of a mobile exhibit unit is still under investigation. A proposal was submitted to the NMRT Board on January 9, 2006.
