Seminar H: Getting What You Want: Advocacy for Financial Resources

Abstract

What stories do we tell to get the financial resources we want or need? Storytelling is a key component of advocacy, especially when articulating fundraising and resource goals both within and outside an organization. In this seminar, heads of special collections reflecting a range of development experiences will share their practical tips for procuring financial resources from organizational leadership and the donor community. A breakout session will allow audience members to participate in an open conversation about this essential responsibility in the administration of special collections and rare books.
