Contingent employment has been very common in galleries, libraries, archives, and museums for many years. The New England Archivists Contingent Employment Study Task Force found that overreliance on this employment model can negatively impact workers, institutions, and the field at large. The Term Labor Best Practices Working Group created the Best Practices for Archival Term Positions, which advocate for more ethical, supportive term positions. Join both groups as they delve into their research, findings, and recommendations for designing ethical contingent positions, supporting contingent colleagues, and promoting the long-term sustainability and growth of our field. * Make sure to add the Post Panel Discussion 30 mins after the conclusion of this session to continue the conversation (shown right side on this screen).en_US
