CC:DA/TF/Relationship Designators in RDA Appendix K/3 Task Force report on work to date

Abstract

The Task Force identified several issues that we would like CC:DA to consider and discuss at the annual meeting before a final report is submitted: terms that are too specific; how the definitions could be presented so that the relationships could be understood by the human user of the appendix; use of gender neutral terms vs. gender specific terms; some terms are used with different definitions in different sections - do they need to be unique?; one section of the Getty vocabularies includes roles that perhaps could be incorporated into Appendix K. They could also form the basis of a controlled vocabulary for RDA 9.16 (Profession or Occupation).
