Gloria Amescua received a 2022 (Pura) Belpré Children’s Author Honor for Child of the Flower-Song People: Luz Jiménez, Daughter of the Nahua (Abrams Books for Young Readers, an imprint of (ABRAMS). She delivered her acceptance remarks at the Pura Belpré Award Celebración held Sunday, June 26, 2022, during the ALA Annual Conference in Washington, DC.
