Letter to House Oversight Committee Opposing Book Bans and Challenges to Free Speech

Abstract

ALA expresses severe concern about the dangerous wave of censorship campaigns directed at libraries nationwide. We hope the Subcommittee’s hearing will illuminate these problems. We urge jurisdictions around the country not to proceed with such proposals.
