It was decided to create a protocol between the RSC and the CoS which encompasses the existing representation between the RSC and the CoS review groups and will allow for future working. The new protocol operates at the strategic level, between the RSC as the managing body for RDA and the CoS as the managing body for IFLA Standards. Individual review groups reporting to CoS can form relationships and agreements as needed at more technical levels, and the current protocol does not preclude this.

(RDA Steering Committee, 2024-01-30) Welsh, Anne; Behrens, Renate; Roth, David
This document sets out the membership, terms of reference, and specific tasks for the Religions in RDA Working Group. It supersedes RSC/Chair/2023/4, extending its term for a year, until December 2024. The purpose of the Religions in RDA Working Group is to support the improvement of the RDA standard by reviewing the guidance and instructions (in all RDA entities) and making recommendations to move RDA toward unbiased and inclusive treatment of world religions. A specific and more immediate goal is to expand the non-Christian coverage in RDA. RSC concerns include the emphasis given to Christianity and books of the Bible and the lack of attention to other religious texts.

The purpose of the Extent Working Group is to support the improvement of the RDA standard for elements that use measurements, primarily extent and dimensions elements. The primary deliverables are discussion papers or proposals (or both, broken into manageable pieces, if needed) to raise issues of concern for consideration by the RSC and to move forward with implementation of the AUQ (aspect-unit-quantity) model.
