The Reed School Libraries Amendment to the Reading First Act (part 
of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act) passed today in the 
Senate with a vote of 69-30. Sincere thanks to all those who 
contacted Senators and urged them to support this important 
amendment - your efforts have been essential to its passage. 

Look for an ALAWON tomorrow with an official list of Senators who 
voted for and against this important amendment.
