The cybermobile, similar to a bookmobile, is equipped with computers, allowing rural or remote communities to have access to the Internet. It is handicapped accessible. Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN), whose office is participating in this event, is scheduled to visit the cybermobile from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. Members of Congress and their staffs are encouraged to come and see how federal funds for programs such as the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) are being used to bring information access to underserved communities. Come and take a tour of the cybermobile. ALL ARE WELCOME. Location: North side of the Russell Senate Office Building on C Street, N.E. (1st and C Streets, N.E., Red Line to Union Station) Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided. Representatives of the library community, government agencies, and vendors will participate in a panel discussion about the current state of the universal service program and what can be done to improve it.
