4.      Published May print issue of Footnotes

5.      Worked with ALA Publishing to send out email alerts for each online issue of Footnotes

6.      Assistant Chair for the 2006-2007 year chosen


**Action Items/Issues To Be Resolved - What plans/projects remain which

will be carried over or postponed until next year? Have there been any

substantial changes in plans requiring a reconsideration or cancellation

of projects? Information regarding such will be helpful for future

chairs and planners.


1.      The repurposing of the print issue of Footnotes will make life much easier for future Footnotes Editors.

2.      The editor was never able to figure out how exactly to maintain budget figures. If ALA publishing and printing divisions send out invoices, none were received. This is why the section below was left blank. Perhaps there are (or should be) instructions somewhere on the ALA website for obtaining these figures?




1) The pre-conference editions of Footnotes seem to come a little early. November, for example, is too early for some people to know whether or not they will have announcements or other items for Midwinter. Perhaps since Footnotes seems to revolve around the Annual and Midwinter conferences, the publication times should be adjusted slightly.


2) Maybe it was just an ‘off' year, but I found the New Chair Orientation at 2005 Annual to be devoid of any useful information for new chairs (like budgeting info – see above). Since I was a new chair, I didn't know what questions to ask, and only now do I realize that there could have been much more substance. Please disregard if this problem was resolved in 2006.


3) Big thanks to Amanda and Laurel for answering my hundreds of questions over the course of the year, and to the whole committee (particularly Debby Andreadis) for all their hard work.
