a) Projects
completed (For example, any procedures, tip sheets, checklists, etc. created
during this period):
The committee has researched and compiled a proposal for creation of a scholarly print journal that would be sponsored by NMRT and written by and for NMRT members. The purpose of the journal would be to expose NMRT members to the scholarly publication process and to provide a venue for publication of articles related to new librarianship.
The committee submitted the
proposal to supervising board member Amanda Roberts in December 2005. Amanda submitted the proposal to the NMRT
Board for its consideration at the 2006 ALA Midwinter meeting in
With respect to this project, the work of the committee is done.
b) Projects
in progress but not yet completed:
The committee continues to plan for the 2007 Presidential Program and Annual Program. The committee is researching potential program topics and identifying potential speakers. This work is expected to be completed in April 2006, culminating in a proposal to supervising board member Amanda Roberts.

Still to be completed
is the proposal for the 2007 Presidential Program and Annual Program.
The program we have
tentatively planned for the Presidential Program would require up to $500 for
speaker expenses. As we have no budget
(and the program would be budgeted in 2006-2007), Amanda Roberts is
investigating potential availability for these funds next year.
