Objectives, Projects completed (including, but not limited to, any procedures,
tip sheets, checklists, etc. created during the reporting year):
The President's Program Committee planned, organized and presented a program entitled “Planning the next step in your library career: Strategies for keeping pace with the changing library environment” at the ALA Annual Conference Chicago 2005. The program included speakers from various backgrounds.They discussed and answered questions - in an open forum - on how to apply for jobs, interviewing, resume writing, preparing for the next job, keeping current in the library field, and shared tips and stories relating to careers in library work.

Joel Berger - President, CBerger Group
Jenifer Abramson - Assistant Director of Library
Human Resources, UCLA Libraries
Therese Bigelow - Deputy Director of Branch Services, Kansas City Public
Library
The committee prepared promotional materials, advertisements and designed and maintained a website containing information about the program and the speakers. Attendance was estimated at approximately 120.

Items/Issues To Be Resolved – What plans/projects
remain which will be carried over or postponed until next year? Have there been
any substantial changes in plans requiring a reconsideration or cancellation of
projects? Information regarding such will be helpful for future chairs and
planners.
