reporting year):
**Action Items/Issues To Be
Resolved – What plans/projects remain which will be carried over or postponed
until next year? Have there been any substantial changes in plans requiring a
reconsideration or cancellation of projects? Information regarding such will be
helpful for future chairs and planners.
1. Still needed: Creation of Footnotes web template
2. Still needed: Migration to ALA server
3. Still needed: Investigation of purchase of an NMRT copy of publication creation software for the print issue (instead of reliance on Editor's personal software or software used at place of employment). This software should be compatible with ALA Publishing's guidelines.
4. The Footnotes Archives will most likely need to be sent
to the Archives Committee (or the committee responsible for the migration to
the ALA server.)
Note that the current workload of the Editor is very large.
The Editor is responsible for 3 online issues and one print issue, design and
creation of a 12-page print issue, and management of the Committee workload as
a whole. The Assistant Editor is responsible for the web layout, a regular
column, and the Yahoo Groups site. Future Editors/Assistant Editors will have
an increased workload because they will be responsible for the Footnotes
migration to the ALA server.
Investigation into streamlining the workload of the Footnotes Committee would be beneficial. Additional help may be necessary (creation of ad hoc committee, use of ALA Publishing, merging of duties with pre-existing NMRT committees, etc.)
