**Goals, Objectives,
Projects completed (including, but not limited to, any procedures, tip sheets,
checklists, etc. created during the reporting year):
The annual 3M/NMRT Social, “Orange You Glad@Your Library” was held at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, Florida, with an estimated 350 people attending. This event recognized the three recipients of the 3M Professional Development Grant and provided an informal opportunity for networking among NMRT members and 3M employees. Judy Nelson, who has worked as 3M's contact with NMRT for many years, was presented a retirement gift.
A PowerPoint presentation was created, showing photos of a cross-section of NMRT members accompanied by their quotes on librarianship. This was shown throughout the Social, and may be used and supplemented in the future.
Publicity for the Social included a flyer, an invitation for
past recipients, notices in Footnotes and Cognotes, and postings on several
listservs.
**Action Items/Issues
To Be Resolved – What plans/projects remain which will be carried over or
postponed until next year? Have there been any substantial changes in plans requiring
a reconsideration or cancellation of projects? Information regarding such will
be helpful for future chairs and planners.
Contact will be made with Judy Nelson's replacement at 3M in order to begin planning for next year's Social.
The PowerPoint presentation may be expanded and updated for further use, either at the Social, on the NMRT Web site, or other venues.
