Goals, Objectives, Projects completed (including, but not limited to, any procedures, tip sheets, checklists, etc. created during the reporting year):

• Monitored NMRTWriter, the list for new writers. Posted a new discussion topic on a bi-weekly basis until December 2003.
• Created a “toolkit” for new librarians who are seeking to become involved in professional publication.
• Created a Website for the committee to include information on the committee, its mandate, information on NMRTWriter, and the “toolkit” resources. (Website is live at http://www.ala.org/ala/nmrt/comm/NMRTNewWriters.htm)

Action Items/Issues To Be Resolved – What plans/projects remain which will be carried over or postponed until next year? Have there been any substantial changes in plans requiring a reconsideration or cancellation of projects? Information regarding such will be helpful for future chairs and planners.

• Revisit the committee mandate and investigate the possibility of broadening mandate to include career development.
• Investigate the ongoing use of NMRTWriter (with the help of list members) and determine whether or not regular discussion topics should continue to be posted.
• Update Website content (ongoing).
