NMRT Board Member Progress Report
1. Office Name:
President
2. Office Term
(Date: Ex. 2003-2004): 2003-04
3. What kind of interaction have you had with your committees thus far
this year? What support have you been able to provide them?
I
continue to be in contact with the Directors and Board, supporting their
efforts at supervising their committees. My goal has been to allow as much
flexibility and freedom as possible and to step in only when asked for input or
when I felt some guidance was needed. I have
spent much of my time on Conference planning, working with our ALA Liaison, Kim
Sanders, to assure that room reservations and program descriptions have been
accurately taken care of.
4. What would you still like to accomplish in your office before the end
of your term?
I
would like to ensure a smooth transition between myself and incoming President
Sally Gibson by transferring relevant files and emails to her for reference. I
plan to set up phone calls with her to go over details of the office, if she
would like.
I
will contact the Directors to make sure their committees are on target and that
NMRT's programs and events are taken care of for Annual Conference.
Finally,
I would like to help my officers wrap up the year feeling satisfied in a job
well done, and to know that they gained leadership skills and confidence in
their time in office.
