Committee Name: Speakers Bureau
Specific Timeline for Year's Activities
- December:
- Go
through the current list of speakers and verify their contact information
and whether they still want to be in the database. This should be completed by the end of
December.
- Prepare
a proposal to the executive board to either move the Speakers Bureau to a
standing committee or disband it.
- January:
- Present
proposal to the executive board.
- Meet
at midwinter to discuss a web site redesign that would not require human,
behind-the-scenes updating and provide a means of assessing the
effectiveness of the database.
- Meet
with the Alumni committee and ask them to promote the Speakers Bureau to their
members.
- Meet
with the SASCO committee and ask them to promote the Speakers Bureau to
their members.
- January-April:
- Via
email work on redesigning the web site.
- April:
- Once
the Web site redesign completed, submit a brief article to American Libraries publicizing the
project and the need for participants.
- Solicit
for participants through the Alumni members and NMRT listserv.
- June:
- Promote
the project to student chapters via the listserv.
- At
Annual we will meet and discuss our progress and next steps.
