**Action Items/Issues To Be Resolved (What is left to do, based on your Planning Report?
Have there been any substantial changes in plans since then? What items, if any, have been deferred until next year?):

It has been determined that NMRT will not be placing an ad about NMRT events at the 2003 Annual conference in American Libraries.

In 2000 and 2001 NMRT was able to place a 1/2 page black and white ad in American Libraries for free.  In 2000 the ad appeared in April on page 46.  In 2001 the ad appeared in April on page 90.  In 2002 NMRT placed a 1/2-page color ad in American Libraries in the June/July issue page 109.  NMRT was not charged for the ad but Chapter Relations paid for the ad from their budget.  The reality is that the ad cost $500.  For 2003 NMRT would need to purchase an ad from our budget.  The current pricing is for color or black and white ads is:

Full page $1200

1/2 page $500

1/3 page $300

1/4 page 150.

The ad also needs to be placed by the ALA staff liaison, which is Kim Sanders.

NMRT decided not to place an ad for 2003.  We believe that the information advertised in the ads can be advertised for free on various listservs, Footnotes, and websites.  There is also some question if the ad is noticed by non-NMRT members or anyone who is not already aware of the information.  Thus it would be more of a benefit to our members if we did not spend money on an ad in American Libraries.

In April 2003, the chair resigned.  A co-chair was appointed and the two assistant chairs agreed to take on additional responsibility.
