NMRT Board Member 2002-2003 Planning Report

1. Office name: Treasurer

2. How you plan to help committees address the four NMRT goals (if it does not apply, put N/A):

The Treasurer position exists as the primary person for financial questions and guidance for all of NMRT. My goal is to increase contact with committees so that they understand what resources are available to them and to increase their involvement in planning for future years so that last-minute financial concerns happen less often. In doing so, hopefully financing will become less of an obstacle as each committee works to complete their own goals.

3. How you plan to create a positive committee experience, including the frequency and type of support you plan to provide to chairs and committee

members:

I plan on contacting committees mid-year, to check on their current status and to get their input for the new budget being prepared, and at the end of the year to make sure everything was completed. Throughout the year, I plan on contacting committees as needed, and being available to them as they have questions.

4. Future directions you see your office or NMRT need to take this year or the following year, including strategies on how to address projects that affect committees outside of your supervision:

I see the Treasurer needing to develop procedures for creating an accurate budget for current, and long-term planning in collaboration with the Board and the committees. Also, the creation of additional financial reference information for committees to refer to on the Web.
