ALAWON: American Library Association Washington Office Newsline Volume 13, Number 38 June 18, 2004 In This Issue: OITP E-Rate Task Force CIPA Compliance and E-Rate Forum Sessions Saturday, June 26, 2:00pm - 4:00pm (REN) Renaissance - Convention Center 4 During its Saturday afternoon program the OITP E-Rate Task Force will address two issues: 1) CIPA Compliance 2) E-Rate Program Issues 1) "CIPA Compliance, Filter Management, & Insuring Access to Protected Content" - This session will help libraries choosing to comply with CIPA do so while providing the greatest possible access to protected speech. Panelists will describe best practices, including filter management; white lists, and public services implications. Panelists include Lori Bowen Ayre, The Galecia Group; Bob Bocher, Wisconsin Division for Libraries; and Tamara Georgick, Washington State Library. Participants will be invited to share their good ideas and solutions.
