In This Issue: OITP E-Rate Task Force CIPA Compliance and E-Rate Forum Sessions

During its Saturday afternoon program the OITP E-Rate Task Force will address two issues:  

1)  CIPA Compliance
2)  E-Rate Program Issues 

1)  "CIPA Compliance, Filter Management, & Insuring Access to Protected Content"  -  This session will help libraries choosing to comply with CIPA do so while providing the greatest possible access to protected speech. Panelists will describe best practices, including filter management; white lists, and public services implications.  Panelists include Lori Bowen Ayre,
The Galecia Group; Bob Bocher, Wisconsin Division for Libraries; and Tamara Georgick, Washington State Library.

Participants will be invited to share their good ideas and solutions.  The ALA Office for Information Technology Policy will post best practices identified on the web.

2)  "E-Rate Hearing" - The E-Rate Task Force invites participants in the E-Rate program to share E-Rate issues and concerns for the Task Force to address in its priorities and in advocating changes to the program with the SLD and FCC.
