ALAWON: American Library Association Washington Office Newsline Volume 12, Number 37 May 5, 2003 In This Issue: Remember, National Library Legislative Day is May 12 and 13, 2003 We are still taking registrations for National Library Legislative Day 2003 and there are still rooms available at the Hyatt at the special discounted rate of $189.00. Because so few attendees have taken advantage of the low Hyatt room rate and have chosen to stay elsewhere, we are going charged a several-thousand-dollar penalty by Hyatt. If at all possible, please choose to stay at the Hyatt this year. National Library Legislative Day events will be held in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, May 11, 12 & 13, 2003. On Sunday, May 11, there will be a pre-conference event followed by the briefing day on Monday, May 12 the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, 400 New Jersey Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001. Tuesday, May 13 begins with a short briefing for participants, followed by visits to congressional offices and a congressional reception that evening. We strongly encourage legislative day attendees to stay at the Hyatt in our reserved room block. Be sure to mention the National Library Legislative Day event to receive the discounted room rate. The registration fee for National Library Legislative Day is $15.00 per attendee.
