As you make your plans for the Philadelphia Midwinter conference, plan to attend "Making E-books Work: Librarians and Publishers Exchange Needs and Solutions," a pre-conference where publishers and librarians get a chance to "walk in each other's shoes." At the program, librarians and publishers will discuss the challenges and opportunities in integrating e-books in public and academic libraries. Librarians will discuss e-book library functions including lending and user services. Publishers will describe the challenges of producing and marketing e-books including negotiating with authors/agents and managing use statistics.
