[1] National Library Legislative Day and Briefing Day are next Monday and Tuesday, May 6 and 7! 

We hope you will be joining the more than 400 ALA members already registered for this year's National Library Legislative Day event! 

On Monday, May 6th from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. DCLA and ALA will hold Briefing Day at the Holiday Inn.  National Library Legislative Day will begin on Tuesday at 8:30 am in Dirksen G 50 with FOLUSA's presentation of the Friends of Libraries USA Award. Legislative visits will continue through the day on Tuesday, and all attendees are invited to join Congressional representatives and staff at the NLLD Reception on Tuesday evening, May 7th from 5-7 p.m. For a complete list of events and briefing day topics, please visit the ALA Washington Office Legislative Day Web site at: http://www.ala.org/washoff/legislativeday.html. 


[2] Important Reminder
Legislative Day participants are reminded that, because of heightened security measures at Congressional office buildings, we will be unable to bring legislative day attendee packets to Tuesday morning's welcoming session. Packets will be available for pick up between 8:00 am and 3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6th at the Holiday Inn. If you are unable to pick up your attendee packets on Monday, please contact Camille Bowman at 1-800-941-8478 to make arrangements for pick up at 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue from 7:30 am to 9:00 am on Tuesday morning.
