ALAWON: American Library Association Washington Office Newsline Volume 11, Number 1 January 24, 2002 In this issue: New Director of Education Department's Office of Educational Technology Announced John Bailey has been named director of the Education Department's Office of Educational Technology. He will advise the department on technology policy related to the nation's education programs. Bailey replaces Linda Roberts, who served in the post during the Clinton Administration. The job has been vacant for the past year. Before joining Education, Bailey was director of educational technology for the Pennsylvania Education Department, where he was responsible for systems used by the state's education institutions. He has a bachelor's degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.
