At the 2005 Annual Conference in Chicago, June 23-29, the ALSC Board:

Voted, to support the development of the ALSC @ your library advocacy campaign with a budget of $10,000 spread over the current fiscal year and the 2006 fiscal year.

Voted, to approve a Children's Science Programming Award.

Voted, to approve the establishment of a student rate for the 2006 ALSC National Institute in Pittsburgh, and also a higher registration rate for late registrants.

Voted, to approve: the use of interest income from the Bill Morris Endowment to fund $2,500 for a 2006 preconference speaker and $3,000 for leadership training by Tecker Consultants at Midwinter 2006; and the use of $2,500 from the Friends of ALSC to fund a 2006 preconference speaker. Funding sources for the above events will be recognized in event publicity and marketing pieces.

Voted, to charge the Membership Committee with the development of membership promotional materials, with a budget of $800. The ALSC Membership Committee chair will discuss YALSA's strategies with their Membership Committee chair and work with John Chrastka, ALA's Manager for Membership Development.

Voted, to add the following to the Friends of ALSC donation solicitation card: a Belpre Endowment designation (with REFORMA's approval); and a membership designation to ascertain whether a donor is a member of ALSC, REFORMA, or "other."
